Introduction to slewing bearing gears Slewing bearings can usually be provided with external or internal gears. Sometimes toothless models are used. Slewing bearings are mainly made of spur gears and spur gears. The advantage of the gear as one of the slewing support rings is that no additional drive gear is required, thus saving time and cost when designing individual components. In most cases, slewing bearings use gears of modules 4 to 24. In some cases, metric modules can be used for lower or higher gears. For special applications, Fenghe also produces gear sprockets or large gears.
Specially design and calculate gears according to customer requirements before starting the manufacturing process. The load capacity is calculated based on the corresponding DIN or IS0 specification. In addition, related pinions can be designed and manufactured according to load capacity calculations. Customers will receive pinions and matching gears from a single source.
Only when the service life is particularly high, the teeth of the slewing bearing will be hardened (quenched). When using hardened gears, the load capacity must be recalculated for the specific application.
In the manufacturing process of slewing bearings, there are technical limitations, which lead to the jump deviation of gear teeth. During assembly, the slewing bearings with teeth must be adjusted accordingly to allow for axial clearance during rotation. Therefore, on the slewing support, the highest point of the radial run out of the gear has three green teeth. At this exact location, adjust and control the tooth clearance. If there are several pinions, make sure that each pinion reaches the same state.
